A Week Away from The Cozy Quilter

Our family, including our daughter and Finn, just got home from a week at the cottage. We did lots of reading on the dock, and stitching in the screened porch. It was a very relaxing week. Finn loves it there and could not wait to go down to the dock every morning and evening. We had great weather although it was smoky for a couple of days from the northern Ontario forest fires.

Almost a Week at the Cottage from The Cozy Quilter

Christine and I spent most of a week at her cottage and did lots of sewing, chatting, watching movies and eating good food! It was a bit buggy outside so we were mostly inside. Christine has lots of bird feeders which she kept well stocked all week so there were lots of birds and other critters to see out the window.

But first, the sewing! I added yellow binding to my colour challenge quilt and, over a few days, finished hand stitching it down. The dock was a good place to take some pictures.

Home from the Cottage, again! from The Cozy Quilter

My husband and I, our daughter and Finn spent the last week at a cottage. One week sure does go by fast, but we managed to fill our days with reading, sitting on the dock, rughooking, knitting (me), crocheting and cross stitch(my daughter). We went to a farmers market and into town to do some shopping one day but just spent the rest of the time relaxing at the cottage.

Finn loved napping in a chair on the screened in porch. As you can see, I did a fair bit of hooking on my pitcher plant picture.

A Weekend at the Cottage from The Cozy Quilter

My friend, Christine, and I had a few days away at the cottage last weekend. We brought our sewing machines, projects, and handwork with us, as well as some books to read and good food to eat. It was a pretty relaxing weekend. A storm blew through and the power was off for 12 hours, but we found lots to do. We even toasted bagels and boiled water for tea on the BBQ!

I started a Tiny House quilt (online class by Jo Avery). My houses still need roofs and chimneys but I did didn't have the right colour ...
